Work Party Update

Posted by admin on April 15, 2012

Interlachen work partyA neighborhood work party make quick work of the rotting deck in the Blue Lake easement.  Tom Burns is still in the process of getting bids to replace it.  Removal of the old structure saves the community on the replacement costs.  The work was long overdue as twice the deck gave way under my feet as I was cutting back the laurel hedge that was shading the Southeast corner of the deck.  Many thanks to Tom’s volunteer workforce consisting of myself, Carl Marking, John Mellein, Dan Reynolds, Ted Smits, and Erik Teyema.  The easement will be closed until the remainder of the work is completed, but should be refreshed and ready for use by summer.

Work Party!

Posted by admin on April 11, 2012

As discussed at the annual meeting, the Blue Lake Easement needs attention.  Decay and likely beavers have rendered areas quite hazardous.  A work team will meet at the easement this Saturday, April 14 to begin demolition for future repair.  Tom Burns is looking for lots of help.  The work party will be divided into two shifts – 9:00 to 11:00 to cut up the dock, and 11:00 to 1:00 to haul up the wood and load it into pickups for the recyclers. Bring your Skill saws!
