Interlachen HOA – 2018 Board Meeting Minutes – November

Date, Time, and Location: November 26, 2018, 6:30 p.m. at Mike Vest’s Home.

Meeting called to order by Vice-President Mike Vest at 6:44 p.m.

Attendance: Tom Burns, Kevin Morrow, Debbie Weaver, Roger Keast, Mike Vest and Matt Williams

Excused: Helen Skau, Jerry Mylet, Cathie Smits

Minutes: Prior meeting minutes edited and approved.

PRESIDENT, Jerry Mylet – Absent

RESOLVED:

VICE PRESIDENT, Mike Vest:

Mike wrote the letter to neighbors and delivered to Jerry to encourage safety and appropriateness for the community. The parking issue seems to be resolved but whether those letters were delivered was not clear.

SECRETARY, Matt Williams:

Matt presented the meeting minutes and those were approved with edits. He confirmed the general needs of the road to be to remove/replace in 100 foot segments is approximately $12,000 to $15,000 and the road has about a 15 year lifespan with patches. He also agreed to email Jerry to follow up on the meeting with Jennifer for a Lake Fill to get the lake back to the baseline level.

TREASURER, Roger Keast:

Roger presented the budget with an ending balance of $52,593.27. The tax bills were paid but not clear and the insurance bill still needed to be paid. He reported that there is a $2000 annual budget for non-emergencies on Blue Lake.

RESOLVED: The budget was approved without comment.

PARK AND ROAD COMMISSIONER, Tom Burns

Tom reported on the letter to be delivered to the neighbor as well as a check for our half of the tree trimming. Tom also brought up the fact that the 100 year anniversary is coming in 12 years and we should set a committee and budget for that soon.

RESOLVED: This was pushed to another meeting.

BLUE LAKE COMMISSIONER, Kevin Morrow

ISSUE: Kevin brought to the board the topic of the water levels in the lake and lack of water fill in the 2018 summer season.

RESOLVED: Matt and Kevin to check with Jerry on a meeting to get a lake fill.

MEMBERSHIP COMMISSIONERS, Cathie Smit & Helen Skau

New members and updates were given on outstanding neighbors. There are approximately 135 total members and 100 paid members. About ½ on each lake.

FLOPA and PUD COMMISSIONER, Debbie Weaver

  • They will be putting in a new hydrant on the West end and then the City of Fairview is coming back to do repairs.
  • Drainage district is replanning and combining districts to maintain the levee.
  • The area is larger than expected after the assessment.
