A neighborhood work party make quick work of the rotting deck in the Blue Lake easement. Tom Burns is still in the process of getting bids to replace it. Removal of the old structure saves the community on the replacement costs. The work was long overdue as twice the deck gave way under my feet as I was cutting back the laurel hedge that was shading the Southeast corner of the deck. Many thanks to Tom’s volunteer workforce consisting of myself, Carl Marking, John Mellein, Dan Reynolds, Ted Smits, and Erik Teyema. The easement will be closed until the remainder of the work is completed, but should be refreshed and ready for use by summer.
