Refilling of the lake did not happen because METRO says there weren’t anymore events scheduled so no need to fill. This is after they said they would and we offered to pay for it. We are going to write a letter to Rod Parks, our METRO representative, to clear up this issue for the future. Also trash being thrown in the lake is another issue that needs a resolution. However, the boat rental has increased their efforts in picking it up. Weeds continue to be excessive.
Great efforts have been made increasing membership. Congratulations to Sandy Pattock for all her efforts in this area.
The price for reroofing the gazebo will be more than $1,000 so we will be bringing this issue to the annual meeting. The Board authorized $300 to trim landscaping on Nick Welsh Park.
The Social Committee will have their final meeting to debrief this year’s events on October 28. At this meeting they plan also discuss ideas for next year’s events. They hope to present 2006-2007 social calendar at the annual meeting on Monday, April 9, 2007, at the Blue Lake Park House.

The Social Committee is developing a new neighborhood activity. Do you love movies? Come join the Interlachen Movie Group. We meet monthly to discuss the chosen movies for the month. The next meeting will be at Goetz’s, 7:00 p.m., November 9, and the movies selected are Hollywoodland and Departed. Go see them and come join us for an evening of popcorn, fun and discussion.

The topic of Restructuring Interlachen was discussed. This month’s idea was “do nothing different”. The Board decided that this tactic would likely not change the situation in the foreseeable future. The issue next month will be the possibility of forming a Local Improvement District.

Widening of the railroad crossing at 223rd is being held up and is still under negotiations with the railroad. Cost Co is not going into the Townsend Industrial Park. CostCo Home will be going in at I-205 and Airport Way. Stay tuned to the possible development of a golf course on Blue Lake Road. There have been a few thefts from garages and an increase in vandalism.

The next meeting will be held Sunday, November 12, 4:00 p.m. at Pattock’s house, 20827 NE Interlachen, 503-665-3309.

Respectfully submitted
Al Goetz, acting secretary
