Committee Reports as follows:

Blue Lake Commissioner: Blue Lake Boat Registration conducted on July 5th and 9th resulted with only 12 powerboats registered. The commissioner will be out on the lake at the end of July to remind/collect for delinquent 2005 powerboat registrations. Eye stickers will not be used this year. There is a problem with the glue. Boats will be identified with fish stickers located on right (starboard) rearward side of your boats.

A “change” in the Flag System will be used on Blue Lake to alert residents of unsafe water conditions due to excessive Blue/Green Algae concentrates or health concerns. Green Flag means “Safe to water ski, tube, board, swim or whatever. Yellow Flag (NEW) replaces what red flag stood for and that is “No wake, less than 5 MPH rule”. Red Flag now means “Stay out of the water, unsafe to swim”. This is one of four notification procedures adopted by the board to improve communication to lake residents in the event of a health concern in the lake. Signs, flyers and email communication will be the other procedures to hasten communication of unsafe conditions to lake residents. Metro is in support of this system and will cooperate in alerting us as soon as possible.

The Blue Lake Wakeboard Event will be on Saturday and Sunday on July 30-31. All the board members have free admission tickets to give out for the park side event if you choose. Boat owners are reminded to keep your wake down during the event and to anchor on the south side of the advertising boom to view a and enjoy the events!

FLPOA & IWPUD Liaison: The July 4th Canoe/Kayak/Rowboat Races were fun. Singles Div. winner was Bob Stafford, Doubles Div. winners was Dave Trask and his daughter Sue Ellen, and Juniors Div. winner was Jackson Horton. Congratulations to the winners and participants for conducting a clean race. I saw quite a lot of lonely kayaks/canoes/ rowboats sitting empty on their docks itching to get in the race! I hope we have more participants in next years race. View the exciting race pictures posted on the website under “pictures”.

Road & Parks Comm: Terry Schulz and Rob Johnson will paint warning stripes on the new speed bumps.
