BOARD OF GOVERNORS MEETING
January 13, 2005Board Members attending: Shelley Oleachea-Caufield,Terry Schulz,Debbi Bristow,Steve Gould,Bob Hood
Guest: Jean Ridings
President, Shelley Oleachea-Caufield called the meeting to order. The minutes from the December meeting were approved via email following the January meeting. Shelley will be contacting the Interlachen Nominating Committee to identify three nominees to replace outgoing Board members at the annual meeting.
Shelley also provided some information on the Interlachen website: Go to www.interlacheninc.com, click on New Residence, then click “yes” to the next two security pages that pop up, and then complete the information. The title New Residence does not refer to most Interlachen members, however it would be costly to change the wording for registration so there will be no change.
Terry Schulz reported on the recent meeting regarding the status of a boat launch ramp for Fairview Lake. It was determined that there is adequate room for a possible launch at the west portion of the Nick and Maidie Welsh Park. The next step would be to survey the site at a cost of approximately $150. It was also determined that there is likely sufficient liability coverage to protect Interlachen, Inc. in the event of a claim. There was discussion regarding possible fees associated with using the launch. The Board voted to authorize payment for the survey.
The INTERLACHEN signs located at both ends of the Lane are being replaced by Terry and Carl Marking.
Terry also reported that plans are proceeding to get additional bids for speed bumps and pavement patches on Interlachen Lane.
Debbi Bristow reported that the checking account balance is $20,343.41. Payments were approved for Pat Davies ($226.29) for last summer’s picnic; and Shelly Oleachea-Caufield ($82.16) for copies.
Jean Ridings reported that Metro is recommending the construction of a Golf Learning Center at the undeveloped eastern portion of Blue Lake Park. This could have a potential effect on the aquifer that provides water for Interlachen PUD. Jean also provided a copy of the deed for Interlachen Lane.
February 24 at 6:00 PM at the McGowan residence (20155).
Please note that the Blue Lake meeting with Metro is scheduled for Wednesday, February 2 at 7:00 PM at the Lake House.
Meetings are open to anyone who would like to attend.
